Rachel Austin's paintings are inspired by her garden and her love of plants. This series of botanical watercolors are reflective of the soft, abstracted shadows found in her garden and on hikes in the Pacific Northwest. The paintings are made with watercolor and acrylic to create understated and meditative pieces. Rachel has been a full time artist since 2006 when, after getting a degree in finance, she realized art was probably a better path for her. Rachel’s studio is in her home in Portland, Oregon where she paints, folds cards and packages, prints for customers, and ships all over the country.
